Thirty-two teams will compete for the FIFA World Cup in
Germany in the summer of 2006.
It will be the second time Germany has hosted the tournament,
the first came in 1974 in West Germany.

Matches will be played in Hamburg, Hannover, Berlin, Gelsenkirchen, Dortmund, Leipzig,
Köln, Frankfurt, Kaiserslautern, Nürnberg, Stuttgart and Münich.

Finals
England will play in Group B with Sweden, Paraguay and Trinidad and Tobago.

Qualification Tournament
There are eight European qualification groups in total,
each of the group winners will qualify automatically for the finals. Germany qualify
automatically as hosts.
The two best placed group runners-up will also qualify
with the remaining six runners-up entering a play-off for the last three places.
